Winner takes......?
Kadima is reported to have won the most votes in yesterday's election. Yet, as she and Binyamin Netanyahu of Likud claim victory, it is unclear whom will form a government. In Israel's system, the winning party generally forms a coalition. It is unclear how Livni and Kadima will be able to do this. If Kadima cannot assemble a majority of seats in the 120-seat Knesset, Likud will be able to form a coaltion of parties and be in government. Time will tell.

Dear Rabbi,
ReplyDeleteFound reading your various blogs - especially on Yad Vashem visit - very meaningful. As someone who lived in Yerushalyim for a bit, just wondering if from a distance some better ways of promoting Jewish-American continuity might be seen.
